It's time once again for the Amazing Grace Christian Foundation Bowling for Charity fundraiser.

Each year, the foundation founded by Cleveland resident Grace Adewuya holds a bowling event at Leisure Time Bowling at 2739 Keith St.

The proceeds from the annual event are used to help children in the Philippines.

This year's fundraiser is scheduled for noon on Saturday, March 17.

The money is used for back-to-school supplies, including backpacks, crayons, pencils, notebooks and hygiene items. The foundation also assists families with scholarships, to be able to send their child, or children, to school.

This annual event and the financial assistance gained are only a part of the foundation's mission. It also provides meals and clothing to assist the parents.

The founder of the foundation emphasized that this assistance is primarily for students from kindergarten through the seventh grade. Eighth-graders attend high school classes.

She said the Bowling for Charity funds helped 900 children last year, and they are expecting to provide assistance to 1,000 or more this year.

Entry for the bowling fundraiser is $15 per person, or $65 for a team of six. You can purchase tickets at www.amazinggracefoundation.org  by clicking on Give Now. You can also go to the Amazing Grace Facebook page and click Donate Now.
