A search warrant executed at a Bradley County residence yielded an estimated $23,000 in illegal drugs.

According to a news release, the Drug Enforcement Unit at the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office recently served the search warrant after information was developed about illegal drug transactions.

Upon executing the search warrant, detectives seized 8.5 ounces of methamphetamine with an estimated potential street value of approximately $23,000. In addition, detectives also seized $1,100 in currency. This major seizure resulted in additional investigations regarding other illegal drug distribution.

“Our agency is dedicated to battling the drug epidemic which leads into other criminal activity,” Sheriff Eric Watson stated in a news release. “The sheriff office’s drug unit works tirelessly to get illegal narcotics off the streets to disrupt the major impact that it causes in Bradley County in addition to other surrounding counties.”

Watson also noted many times drug use leads to “significant bodily injury and death which greatly impacts the lives of families in many communities."
