Billie Gene McKinney, 84, a resident of Birchwood, passed away on Friday, Nov. 16, 2018, at the family residence.
He was the son of the late James and Willie Ann McKinney; and was also preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Crisp Mckinney; along with numerous brothers and sisters.
He was retired from General Motors in Flint, Mich., with over 30 years of service. He was an avid bluegrass music lover. He would go to different venues in the area to listen to bluegrass, including The Snowhill Jamboree and Harrison Ruritan Club events.
He is survived by his son, Jim McKinney and his wife, Beth; his daughter, Janice Miller and her husband, Dale; his grandchildren, Amanda Friddell, Bradley Miller and Brianna Miller; his great-grandchildren, Trinity, Talon and Riley Friddell; his brother, Jimmy Ray McKinney and his wife, Judy; along with several nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life service was held Tuesday at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services, North Ocoee Street Chapel, with the Rev. Ramon Torres officiating.
The interment followed at McInturf Cemetery in Birchwood.
