‘Billy Lee’ Hendrix


William “Billy Lee” Hendrix, 94, of Foley, Ala., died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2017.

He was a native of Monroeville and longtime resident of Mobile, Ala., moving to Foley in recent years. He was a graduate of the University of Alabama and of Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn). He was a veteran of World War II. He retired from National Gypsum Company as a Mechanical Engineer.

He was preceded in death by wife, Delnora; sister, Barbara Wittkop; and parents, Lemuel Lee and Alma Nettles Hendrix.

He is survived by two daughters: Babs Tolle (Jeff) of Magnolia Springs, Ala., and Jacque Goins (David) of Charleston; and grandchildren: Benjamin Lee, Melinda Jackson, Micah Smith, Joel Smith and Gerrit Goins.

A memorial service is being held at Old Scotland Presbyterian Church in Tunnel Springs, Ala., on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017 at 2 p.m., with Pastor Rabun Williams officiating. The family requests memorials be made to Old Scotland Presbyterian Church, in care of 315 Pecan Drive, Monroeville, AL 36460.
