Blanche Rymer


Blanche E. Rymer, 92, of Reliance, died Friday, July 19, 2019.  

She was a daughter of the late Luther and Cora Cochran Owens and a member of Fairview Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Rymer; son, Willie Phillip Rymer; four brothers: Eskel Owens, Frank Owens, George Owens, and Johnny Owens; and sisters: Janie, Marie Couey and Francis Wright. 

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law: Margie and Ronny Raines of Monticello, Ga., Wilma and Thomas Jones, of Reliance;  son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Darlene Rymer of Benton; sister; Etta B. Goforth of Reliance; brother, Jimmy Owens of Benton; grandchildren: Tina Bishop of White, Ga, Rhonda Shore of Monroe, Ga, David Rymer of Benton, Lesley Vineyard of Cleveland, Rodney Rymer of Delano, Robyn Hull of Atlanta, Karen Lowery of Niota, Matthew Rymer of Benton, and Sarah Rymer of Benton; 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephew, as well as other extended family.

The funeral will be held at 7 p.m. today, July 21, 2019, in the chapel of the Bordwine Funeral Home of Etowah with the Rev. Wilford Wright officiating. 

The family will receive friends from 5  to 7 p.m. today.

Family and friends will assemble at the Rymer Cemetery in Reliance on Monday  for the  11 a.m. committal aervice.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s association at
