Bobby Higgins

Bobby Wayne Higgins, 67, of Cleveland, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 16, 2019, in a local hospital. 

He was born in Charleston, W.Va., as the sixth child of the late Edward and Leona Higgins. Due to a family illness, he and his siblings were placed in Tomlinson Home for Children at the age of 5. 

He was preceded in death by his sisters: Norma Jean Higgins and Sharon Kay. 

He spent his early years in Tomlinson Home for Children in Cleveland. He later graduated from Stonewall Jackson High in Charleston, W.Va., in 1971. 

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He attended Jet Mechanic School at Chanute, Ill., Air Force Base. After graduation, he was stationed at Charleston, S.C., Air Force Base where he obtained the rank of sergeant. He worked for Duracell in the Maintenance Department with over 30 years of service before his retirement. He enjoyed biking, boating and bowling.

 He was an avid family man.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Higgins of Cleveland; his son, Derek Higgins and his wife, Holly; his grandson, Milo Higgins; his stepson, Tab Goins; his siblings: Ronald Higgins, Carmel Diane Strickland and Donna Gail Link, all of Cleveland, and Joyce Faye Chancey of Charleston, W.V.,; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The Remembrance of Life Memorial Service will be conducted on Monday, April 22, 2019, at 6 p.m. at the North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Service, with the Rev. Randy Howard and Pastor David Preston officiating.
