Bonnie Honaker


Bonnie Opal Honaker, 85, a longtime resident of Cleveland, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2019, at Grace Healthcare of Decatur.

She was affiliated with the Church of God of Prophecy, and was an avid church goer. She was an incredible mother, and her love for her children was rivaled by nothing else. She also liked to garden in her spare time, and loved to keep up with sports, especially basketball. She was loved by all who met her and will be dearly missed. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Denver and Syrena Bess; brothers: Marvin Bess, Alton Bess, Errol Bess, and Gerald Bess; and sister, Patty Chadwell.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband, Donald Honaker; sons: Donnie Honaker (Denise) and Ronnie Honaker; daughters: Sheila Honaker, Sherry Honaker Doroshuk (Brian); brother, Bernard Bess (Carolyn); sister, Madge Kate Donnally (Wavell); 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Thursday at Companion Funeral & Cremation Service.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 21, 2019, at Companion Funeral & Cremation Service, with the interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Cleveland.
