Bruce Wayne "Uncle Booley" Chastain, 78, of Cleveland, passed away Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, at the family residence.
Wayne was born in Cleveland. He was the son of the late Edna Mae Horn Chastain and Eli Chastain.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sallie Ann Chastain; brother, Quentin Chastain; and stepfather, Ronald "Shorty" Freeman.
"Uncle Booley," as he was affectionately called, was self-employed most of his life working along with his brother Kennith in construction working with concrete. He enjoyed the outdoors including fishing and dirt track racing. Wayne was a member of the Temple Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sister-in-law, Ozella Marie Chastain of Old Fort; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life aervice will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021, at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel, with Pastor Paul Fox and Chaplain David Riggs officiating.
Interment will follow in the Hilcrest Memorial Gardens, with family and friends serving as casket bearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
