CASA of Bradley and Polk Counties has recently partnered with The River Maze for “CASA Weekend” taking place on Oct. 6, 7, and 8.

During this weekend, The River Maze will be donating $1 of every ticket sold to CASA of Bradley and Polk counties to further their work in the community to be the voice for vulnerable children in cases of neglect and abuse.

“CASA Weekend” at The River Maze will offer community members a time of fun with the opportunity to give back and help raise funds for CASA’s advocacy for children in the court system.

The River Maze, located in Polk County, is owned and operated by Joe and Dianne Fetzer of Birchland Ocoee Farms. The farmland is used for recreational purposes in the fall, providing entertainment for the community to enjoy such as a corn maze, pumpkin patch, hayride and more.

The Fetzers will also be a part of CASA’s Superhero 5K Run/Walk and Family Fun Festival in November in memory of Melisha Gibson.

This event is an opportunity to raise awareness about the pressing need in our community for everyday heroes to swoop in and stand up for vulnerable children in order to guarantee her story will not be repeated. To help ensure every child in Bradley and Polk counties has a safe and permanent place to call home, register online at http://casabp.org/superhero-5k.

CASA of Bradley and Polk Counties is a non-profit that works with local volunteers to make sure the voices of abused and neglected children are heard. CASA volunteers are everyday citizens appointed by judges to advocate for the safety and well-being of children who have an unstable home situation. These volunteers speak on behalf of an otherwise voiceless child and represent their best interests in court.

The River Maze is located on U.S. Highway 64, between U.S. Highway 411 and the dam at Parksville Lake. For hours and pricing visit http://therivermaze.com/.
