The city of Cleveland is sponsoring a photography contest through Sunday, Nov. 10.
The competitive event is called “Capture Cleveland,” and it's being coordinated by Administrative Assistant Brian Moran.
City staff members are hoping residents of Cleveland can help "capture" visual glimpses of many of the interesting, important and historical locations and opportunities in and around the community.
The special event is intended to inspire Clevelanders and others living in the region to catch the best moments of being in our city. Whether you are a serious photographer or someone who casually takes pictures as a hobby or for Instagram, the city staff is inviting you to participate in this contest.
Plans are for the photographs to be displayed for all to view.
The goal of Moran and the city staff is to display the submitted photographs at a later date at a convenient location for all to see.
More information can also be found at the online location. Entry forms are also available.
Participants should register their entries in one of the six following categories:
• Photographs by a middle school student;
• Photographs by a high school or college student;
• The arts, culture community;
• Outdoors scenery;
• Public safety; or
• Historic downtown architecture.
Six businesses or organization, are partnering with the city in sponsoring the unique competition.
The other sponsors include Athens Federal Community Bank, Waste Connections, Mainstreet Cleveland, Glassworks, The Venue Creekside, White Oak Advertising and Public Relations, and The Bank of Cleveland.
Moran plans to release more information on the photo competition, as well as select a workspace or another location where all of the images entered can be displayed.
