Cleveland man arrested on sexual exploitation charges

A Cleveland man was arrested Thursday and charged with statutory rape and 32 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, according to a Bradley County Sheriff’s Office report.

Michael Sean Houchin, 23, of 3785 Forest Lane, was charged following an investigation that began in June, reports stated.

According to Detective David Shoemaker’s report, a search warrant was executed for a smartphone belonging to Houchin on June 30.

While they were forensically processing the phone, investigators reportedly located several images that were alleged to have shown a male having sexual intercourse with a 17-year-old female.

The BCSO Criminal Investigation Division began its investigation following the retrieval of the phone, and then on Thursday placed charges on Houchin, reports said.

While the phone reportedly belonged to Houchin, the report from June did not indicate he was the male shown in the images. It was also not specified if the 17-year old girl was from Cleveland or some other location.

Houchin was eventually indicted by the Bradley County grand jury on the charges, and was reportedly arrested by BCSO deputies late Thursday morning, at his home on Forest Lane.
