A Cleveland woman was arrested by the Cleveland Police Department Friday after she allegedly entered the home of a local couple and kicked their dog, damaged a motorcycle, choked the female resident and injured the male resident’s genitalia.
Rochelle R. Hicks, 37, who was described by police as a friend of the couple, was arrested for aggravated assault, vandalism and other offenses.
The incident began after the female resident of the home had invited Hicks to their home to “spend time together and drink.”
Later than evening, the wife said she and her husband had gone to bed after Hicks left the residence. However, she said they were awakened when Hicks reentered their residence and began “kicking their dog.”
A fight then ensued outside of the residence, according to the CPD report.
"The wife said Hicks put her in a chokehold, and she was unable to breathe,” the reported stated.
When the husband attempted to break up the fight between the two women, he said Hicks grabbed him by his “genital area, causing a laceration.”
After 911 was called, Hicks knocked over the male resident’s motorcycle as she attempted to flee, causing approximately $1,000 in damage.
Police later located Hicks who was found down the road lying beside a house, where she was arrested.
While speaking to the wife, an officer “observed fresh red marks around her neck congruent with a strangulation, and a bite mark to her right bicep.”
The woman told police Hicks had bitten her during the altercation.
“I then spoke with the husband and observed a bleeding laceration to his genital area congruent with the story both victims advised,” police said.
Both were examined by EMS staff. According to the CPD report, the husband chose to have his wife transport him to the hospital.
Police said Hicks was visibly intoxicated, smelled of alcohol and had slurred speech.
Hicks was then transported to the Bradley County Jail, where she was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, vandalism and public intoxication.
