Debra 'Debbie' Leamon

Posted

Debra “Debbie” Leamon, 60, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Tom Leamon; and her stepfather, Jack Thompson.

Debbie was born with limitations, but she never  let those limitations dictate her life. She was always happy and made her family and friends happy. She was the sunshine of everyone's lives who knew her.

She loved “her Jesus” and angels, playing the guitar, singing, coloring and watching movies. Debbie loved celebrating with big white cakes and having her picture taken. But above all she loved her family and friends who will miss her deeply. She attended Samples Baptist Church.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her devoted mother, Mary Thompson; siblings: James Leamon, Bonnie Crider and her significant other, Tony Blaylock, Terry Thompson (Cindy); nieces and nephews who adored Debbie: Angela Bates (Corey), Ashley Thompson and her fiancé, Anthony Eaves, Cody Thompson (Taylor) and Michael Leamon; along with several great-nieces, nephews and special caregivers who the family sends their most heartfelt appreciation.

A Celebration of Debbie’s Life will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021, at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services, Wildwood Avenue Chapel, with the Rev. Lee Ingram and Rev. Mark Cameron officiating.

The interment will follow at Flint Springs Cemetery, with Terry Thompson, James Leamon, Tony Blaylock, Cody Thompson, Corey Bates and Michael Leamon serving as casket bearers.

The family will receive friends Saturday, from 5 until 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
