She was born in Apison to the late Joseph and Rena Rogers.
She loved to travel, paint, and church activities, especially benevolence.  Her passion was teaching. She taught kindergarten for more than 25 years. She was an avid collector of antique things, and she enjoyed spending time with her family. Dorothy was a charter member of Cornerstone Church of God.
In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Edward Suits Sr.; and siblings: Marvin Rogers, Joyce Rogers Suits (and husband Odell), and Ronald William Rogers.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, children: Brian Suits (Kelli), Cynthia Jones (Lonnie), Edward Suits Jr., Gary Suits (Babylene), and Paula Malone (Randall); sister-in-law, Doris Rogers; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at Cornerstone Church of God, 2823 S Lee Hwy.  A celebration of life service will be held at the church at 6 p.m. with Pastor Rick Sentell officiating.
Dorothy loved helping to distribute school supplies to local children. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Domissions ministry’s backpack giveaway (domissionsministry.org) or by bringing backpacks or school supplies to the Cornerstone Church of God.
