Double Cross Bluegrass, a rising new bluegrass band based out of Harrison, will headline the Cowboy Gospel Jubilee this Friday evening at 7.

“Double Cross has a hard-driving kind of sound, with a bit of traditional and a bit of modern bluegrass,” said Steve Poteet, producer of the weekly show. “They won the coveted Crowd’s Choice Award at the Snow Hill Bluegrass Jamboree earlier.”

Rooted in a double Cross father/son duo — hence the name Double Cross — the group features Dale Cross on guitar along with his son Phillip on bass. They reside in Harrison.

Chrissie Tankersley from Ringgold, Georgia, provides great chops and hot licks on the mandolin.

Also appearing on the Jubilee is award-winning singer-songwriter Elmer Bramlett, Joel Moore, and the Cowboy Church Band featuring Pastor Wally.  Poteet is the announcer.

“The Cowboy Jubilee is a come-as-you-are event,” Poteet said, “and is located between Blackburn Road and Blue Springs Road, in the Dockery Heights subdivision. A love offering is taken for the headliners."
