Edith Scales, 93, of Chattanooga, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018, in Cleveland.
She was born in Chattanooga on March 6, 1924, to the late Albert and Mary Sanders. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Scales; two brothers: Charles and Damon Sanders; and three sisters: Ruby Scales, Rebecca Crisp, and Edna Gamble.
She was retired from Signal Knitting Mills after 31 years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her family and organized family reunions, reading, loved flowers, and going to yard sales. She was a member of the Canaan Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Larry (Reva) Scales; grandchildren: Amanda (John) Hegeman and Rachel (Jordan) Metzger; great-grandchildren: Victor Hegeman, Julia Hegeman, and Lincoln Metzger; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held today, March 7, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge in Rossville, Ga. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
