Ethel Minerva Young


Ethel Minerva Young, 84, of Cleveland, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, July 6, 2017.

She loved reading, cross stitching, and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents: David and Elsie Stephenson; husband, James Paul Young; brother, Drury Stephenson; sisters: Marie Epperly, Easter Edgerton, Beulah Pitts and Sarah Epperson; and grandson, Geoffrey Paul Frye.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children: Darrell Young, Jana Young, Lisa (Mark) Harris and “adopted” daughter and dear friend Regina (David) McDowell; grandchildren: Richard Johnson, Nicole (Glen) Mullinax, David (Shayna) Harris and Rachel Harris; great-grandchildren: Dakota Bailey, Erik Mullinax and Oliver Johnson; brother, Buddy (Norma) Stephenson; sister, Lucille Patterson; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on today at Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Rd. N.W. in Cleveland.

A celebration of life service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, July 10, 2017, at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to American Macular Degeneration Foundation at P.O. Box 515 Northampton, MA 01061-0515.
