MOBILE, Ala. (AP) -- Nick Gordon scored on a wild pitch in the first inning, leading the Chattanooga Lookouts to a 4-1 win over the Mobile BayBears on Thursday.

Luke Bard got Sherman Johnson to hit into a double play with runners on second and third to end the game for his fifth save of the season.

Gordon scored on the play in the first to give the Lookouts a 1-0 lead after he led off the inning with a single, stole second and then went to third on a groundout.

Minnesota’s top prospect has 11 stolen bases on the season.

With the score tied 1-1 in the second, the Lookouts took the lead for good when Ryan Walker hit a solo home run.

Chattanooga right-hander Kohl Stewart (4-4) picked up the win after allowing one run on just one hit over five innings. Opposing starter Jake Jewell (5-7) took the loss in the Southern League game after he allowed four runs on just three hits over 4 2/3 innings.

For the BayBears, Michael Hermosillo doubled and singled twice.

Chattanooga improved to 5-2 against Mobile this season.

The Lookouts have the Southern League’s best overall record at 63-34 and are a league best 21-6 in the second half.
