The Hooper Family Reunion will be held at noon on July 14, at the Hiwassee, Ga., Senior Citizen Center. All relatives of Absalom Hooper are welcomed for a covered-dish luncheon. For more information, fax 706-581-2016.

The Ocoee Region Beekeepers Association  will meet Tuesday, 7 p.m., at the Benton Municipal Building, 6496 Highway 411 in Benton. Mike Coulter will speak on "honey harvesting, extracting, bottling, labeling and preparing for honey competitions."

The BCHS Class of 1983 35-year Reunion will be held on Saturday inside the Village Green, near the Bald Headed Bistro restaurant. This will be an informal, come-as-you-are event. The regular monthly meeting of the Bradley County Planning Commission will be Thursday at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held in the courthouse annex at the Planning & Inspections Office at 155 Broad St. S.W.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol will conduct a driver's license roadside safety checkpoint in Bradley County, at the intersection of Durkee Road and Bates Pike, on Friday at 8 p.m. All scheduled checkpoints are contingent upon manpower availability and weather conditions.

Charleston City Commission will meet today, 4 p.m., at city hall to have first reading of the 2018-19 fiscal year budget.

Cleveland BBQ Blues and Bluegrass Festival will be Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Greenway Park, 755 Raider Drive.  There will be arts, crafts, barbecue vendors, motorcycle contest, family fun and food vendors.
