James E. (Buddy) Messer, 72, a resident of Cleveland, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, in a local hospital.
He was previously a chef at Signature Health Care.
He was the son of the late Alvin and Mary Womac Messer and was also preceded in death by his sisters; Martha Beck, who passed away two weeks ago; Betty Hayes, Judy Frost and Bernita Messer; and brother, Wayne Messer.
He is survived by his nieces and nephews; Tammy Pickens (James); Shirley Goins (Terry); Steve Hayes; Barry Hayes (Kathy); and Alex Hayes.
The funeral will be conducted today, March 8, 2018, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Daren Miller officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday in Candies Creek Cemetery.
His family will receive friends today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
