James “Jim” Buford Duggan, 78, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, at Memorial Hospital.
Jim was a member with perfect attendance with his church family at Cleveland Community Chapel. He loved helping people and never turned down many jobs in doing so. He was a talented man who could fix anything.
He worked as a sheriff’s deputy with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office as a detective for many years. After starting a family, he moved on and retired from the sheet metal trade working for J.W. Brooks & Sons, until their closing. He loved to farm and raise cattle and spent many years growing vegetables and baling hay.
The family will receive friends on Friday, Sept. 14, 2018, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home at Highway 58. The memorial service will be conducted Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Tazz Reid officiating. There will be visitation an hour prior to the service. Burial will be private.
