J.D. Farris, 69, a lifelong resident of the Cleveland area, passed away Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, at his home.
He served his country as a U.S. Marine and served in Vietnam. He was very proud of his family and also loved driving his truck.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Denna Farris; and father and mother, Earl Sr. and Delcie Farris.
He is survived by his siblings: Ruth Garrett, Earl Farris Jr., Tom Farris, Fletcher Farris, Gary Farris and Larry Farris; children: Angela Smith, Chad Farris, Dewy (Robin) Farris, Regina Laughlin, and John (Heather) Farris; 10 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a Celebration of Life service Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017, at 8 p.m. at the Companion Funeral Home Chapel, 2415 Georgetown Road N.W.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., preceding the service in the chapel.
