Jerry James Farris, 74, of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2018.

He was born on Jan. 7, 1944, to the late Ed and Ruth Farris. He was a lifelong resident of this area and a longtime employee of Magic Chef.  He always loved to travel and explore new places.

He had a tremendously bright personality and loved to make people laugh. He could always light up a room with his smile and sweet spirit.  He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Farris; and sisters: Jackie Stokes, Ann Guinn, and Debbie Willis.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 51 years, Beverly Farris; son and daughter-in-law: Scott and Vanessa Farris; granddaughter. Katie Farris; grandson. Caleb Farris; sisters: Ginger (Jesse) Roark of Birchwood, Judy Lawhorn of Cleveland, Rickie Stanley (Freddy) of Cohutta, and Penny Hiefnar of Cleveland; brother, David (Diane) of Birchwood; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today,  at Companion Funeral Home, located at 2419 Georgetown Road N.W., Cleveland, TN 37311.  

A celebration of life service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 5, 2018, at 1 p.m. with Bud Pierce officiating.  Interment will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
