Jerry 'BoWeevil' Lawson
Jerry “BoWeevil” Lawson, 79, a native and lifelong resident of Polk County, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017.
He was a lifelong member of Benton Station Baptist Church. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed farming and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Josephine Elrod Lawson; his parents, Clint Lawson and Mayme McPheeters; and great-grandchildren, Kayla York and Fulton York.
He is survived by his four children: Dorothy Banks (Robert) of Cleveland, Diane Earwood (Eddie) of Old Fort, David Elrod of Old Fort, and Teddy Elrod (Donna) of Knoxville; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and extended family and numerous church family.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Brothers Joel Jenkins and Ryan Potts officiating.
Interment will follow in Benton Station Baptist Church Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony and bagpipes. Neal Pippenger, Chris Boggs, Junior Yates, Hoss Cochron, Jeff Passmore and Christian Passmore will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
