Katherine Marie Elliott


Katherine Marie Elliott, 93, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, in a local health care facility.

She was the daughter of the late George and Gertrude Scoggins Fairbanks; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Willie J. Elliott; brothers, George, Jackie and J.C. Cross; and her sister, Allie Erwin.

Mrs. Elliott was a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant achieving her certificate in 1956. She was the first CNA to work at the Bradley County Nursing Home when it opened in 1957. She attended White Oak Baptist Church and was a member of Bancroft Church of God.

She is survived by her daughters, Billie Jo Allman and Linda Faye Marler; her sons, Gary Dean Elliott and Coy Lynn Elliott; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Sue Parker, Mary Ricketts, Betty Springfield; and her brothers, Freddie Cross, James Cross and Ernest Cross.

A Remembrance of Life graveside service will be held at 11 o’clock Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018, at Earl’s Cemetery with the Rev. John Allman and the Rev. Tommy Hindman officiating.

Jeremy and Gary Eversole, Justin and John Allman, James Vernon and Tommy Hindman will serve as casket bearers.

The family will receive friends today from 5 until 8 p.m. at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Avenue Chapel.
