Kennith Ray Chastain, 73, of Old Fort, passed away Sunday, Oct. 3, 2021, at the family residence.
Kennith was born in Cleveland. He was the son of the late Edna Mae Horn Chastain and Eli Chastain. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Quentin Chastain, Wayne "Uncle Booley" Chastain; and stepfather, Ronald "Shorty" Freeman.
For most of his life, he was a self-employed truck driver and worked in construction with concrete. He retired from M&M Mars working as a truck/trailer spotter. Kennith loved to work on his own equipment, and he attended the Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Ozella Marie Chastain, of Old Fort; daughters: Pamela Miller, and Paula Tapley, both of Old Fort, and Lora Lewis (Mark Jr.) of Cleveland; son, Eddie Herron, of Cleveland; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021, at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel, with Chaplain David Riggs and Pastor Paul Fox officiating.
Interment will follow in the Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as casket bearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
