Lee U is called a 'gem'

The City With Spirit: What makes Cleveland special?  Mountains, rivers, outdoor venues?  Yes, but other cities in East Tennessee can claim that, too.

What is ours alone?  A glowing gem embedded in the middle of our town.  And that gem is Lee University.  All who heard the glorious Christmas concert they gave our town last Sunday afternoon (Dec. 3) will agree.

Maybe we should name Cleveland “TheCity With Music in the Air" — superb concerts all through the year at little or no cost, plays, opera, folk music, orchestra, vocal and piano.

You probably think I’m a Lee student.  And you’d be right.  I’m a way-over 60-year-old Encore student, yet another facet of the gem.

Thanks be ... for Lee!
