Résumé Workshop

This class will provide step-by-step guidance for creating an effective résumé. Class will be held Sunday in the computer training room on the library’s second floor from 1:30 to 3:30pm. Sign-up required; please contact the Nonfiction Desk at 423-472-2163 to reserve your space.

Basics for Windows 10 will meet Monday from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Training Room. Come learn about the latest version of Windows.

Jacob Johnson Live!

Author and Children’s Musician Jacob Johnson will be performing on Presidents’ Day, Monday, Feb. 19, at 10:30am in the Community Room. Jacob will offer an energetic music performance for some of our youngest patrons.

This concert will feature interactive songs from his CDs, as well as a fun hands-on time with musical instruments. This program is for children ages 2-8, and their caregivers.

WiggleWorms is a baby program that targets children 2 years of age and under. Babies with their guardians will be listening to stories, rolling and bouncing, waddling and toddling to music including classical and multicultural, all for the purpose of developing motor and social skills. The program will be held Monday from 3-4 p.m. in the Community Room.

Teen Zone Gaming

Join us Monday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. for drop-in Wii and X-Box gaming in the Teen Zone! Ages 13-17. We’ll have Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, Just Dance, and more! You may bring an E-rated multiplayer game to share. Email teenzone@clevelandlibrary,org for more information.

Family Game Night

Join us from 7-8 p.m. in the Community Room for a night of family fun and games.

ZUMBA

Don’t forget the library offers free Zumba classes every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday morning at 8:10 a.m.

Basics for Excel

Do spreadsheets send you into a cold sweat? Come to the Basics for Excel class Tuesday in the Training Room from 9-11 a.m. and conquer your fear!

Preschool Story Time meets Tuesday and Friday in the Kid’s Zone from 10:30 to 11:15  a.m.

Lego Club Jr.

A time for Lego challenges and creations for ages 4-7, with a Valentine’s theme.

Basics for Word class meets Wednesday from 9-11 am. in the Training Room.

Movie Matinee

Jane Austen’s classic, “Pride and Prejudice” starring Keira Knightley will be shown in the Community Room, from 3 to 5 p.m.  Free tickets available at the Circulation Desk.  For adults over 18.

Baby Bookworms meets on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. to noon and again from 1 to 2 p.m. Story time for ages birth to 3 years ... stories, music and fun activities!

Library Tours

Have you ever wanted to discover the inner-workings of your public library, or maybe you’re interested in the history of the building?   Whichever it is, you can participate in a tour of the library this Thursday.   Meet at the Circulation Desk promptly at 4 p.m. for the tour.

Scribblers: Teen Writing Club

A writing club for teens ages 13-17. Join us Thursday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. as we explore fiction, poetry, and narrative nonfiction through writing prompts. This month, we will meet in the Community Room. Teens may also bring writing projects to workshop. Email teenzone@clevelandlibrary.org for more information.

Mid-Day Lego Build

Friday all ages are welcome to a Lego building event at 12:15 p.m.   Come build with us!

Storybook Films - A Celebration of African American History

Join us Friday from 4:30–5:45 p.m. for the film version of four books about African American History. For ages 4-12; Craft included.  Meets in the Community Room.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Preparation 

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, or VITA, program offers free tax help to people who generally make $54,000 or less, persons with disabilities and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals. No appointment is needed, this is a drop-in service. Please bring: Photo ID of tax payer and spouse (if filing jointly). Bring Social Security cards for dependents. If possible, bring you 2016 tax filing.  Meets Saturday in the Carmichael Room from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Family Story Time Join us Saturday from 2-2:30 p.m. stories for the whole family with crafts. It  meets in the Children’s Department and the Community Room.
