"The Best Christmas Pageant Ever," the classic Christmas story, will be presented at Living Word Church, Saturday at 7 p.m., and Sunday at 10:30 a.m. There is no admission charge.

This is the traditional Christmas Pageant, with a hilarious difference. The Herdmans, the worst kids in town, encounter the true meaning of Christmas in this classic play by Barbara Robinson. The play is performed by a multi-generational cast of 40 actors, and directed by Jim Veenstra.

What happens when the dreaded Herdman kids start attending Sunday school for the snacks, and then take all the leads in the pageant by intimidating the other children to not audition? What happens is hilarious comedy, as chaos results.

This ends up not being the worst, but the best Christmas Pageant, as they are impacted by the true meaning and spirit of Christmas. Don’t miss this laugh-out-loud, tenderhearted and memorable story for the whole family.
