Lloyd Gene Spurgeon, of Cleveland, died on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020, at home with the family at his side.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Edna Spurgeon; and a brother, Danny Spurgeon.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Spurgeon; sons: Lloyd Gene Spurgeon Jr. and Timothy Ray Spurgeon; daughters: Apryl Danielle Higgins and Autumn Sunshine “Sunny” Spurgeon; siblings: Donna Giovengo, Cathy Bisbee, Larry Spurgeon, Gary Spurgeon, Sherry Young, and Lisa Nichols; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He never met an animal he didn’t love, or a plane he didn’t like to fly. His hobbies were ultralight planes, model planes and small engine repairs. He liked to build things.
“Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear.”
He accepted the Lord into his heart in October, 2019.
Visitation is Friday, 4 to 7 p.m., at Clingan Ridge Baptist Church.
His Homegoing will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020, at Companion Funeral Home, with Pastor Shane Lawson officiating. Burial will follow at an Ooltewah cemetery.
