LEE SUMMER

BASEBALL CAMPS

Lee University baseball will host a pair of day camps at Olympic Field. The first will be June 3-6 for ages 5-15 with daily sessions from 9 a.m. until noon. the cost of the camp is $115, or just $200 for two brothers. under the direction of Lee coaching staff and players, the camp offers basic fundamentals instruction along with games being played each day as well.  The second camp will be an Advanced Camp for ages 8-17 June 24-26.The morning session (9 until noon) will focus on advanced hitting, while the afternoon session (1-3 p.m.) will be for pitching and catching skills. the cost of these camps are $70 for hitting, $55 for pitching and catching or $115 for both. CSCC CAMP

Cleveland State baseball coach Mike Policastro will conduct three summer baseball camps.  The Youth Skills Camp will be June 3-6 for ages 5-14.  Camp hours will be 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Campers will participate in group instruction and participate in a game each day. The cost of the camp is $80 and includes a camp T-shirt. The Youth Pitcher/Catcher Camp will be held June 10-12 from 9-11:30 a.m. A Youth Hitting Camp will take place June 17-19 from 9-11:30 a.m.  Both camps will be for ages 8–16. The camps will consist of advanced instruction on the fundamentals of pitching, catching and hitting.  The cost is $60 per session, and includes a camp T-shirt. There is a $5 discount per camp registration if a participant registers for more than one of the camps. CSCC TOURNAMENTS

Cleveland State baseball will host its annual Baseball Classic Summer Tournaments in June. The 16-under tournament will be June 1, 2. The 18-under tournament  be on June 7-9. The 15 -under tournament will be June 15, 16. The 14-under and 13-under tournament will be June 22-23. The 16-under, 15-under and 14/13-under tournaments will all have three games of pool play and  a championship. The 18-under tournament will have four games of tournament play and a championship.

LEE PROSPECTS CAMPS

Lee University baseball will host two Summer Prospect Camps June 18-19 at Olympic Field. The price for the camps is $150 to workout at one position and $185 to work at two positions. The camp will be limited to 75 athletes in a session. Session one is June 18 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Registration will be at 8 a.m. Session two will be June 19 from 9 a.m. -4 p.m., also with registration at 8 a.m. Sessions are identical and prospects should only sign up for one session. Instructors at the camps include coaches from the University of Tennessee, Auburn University, Middle Tennessee State University, Kennesaw State University and Lee University. BASKETBALL

BEARS TO HOLD TRYOUTS

The Bradley Central boys' basketball team will hold tryouts for incoming freshman on Friday, May 24 from 6-7:30 p.m. in Jim Smiddy Arena. Participants will need to have a current sports physical.

BEARETTES BASKETBALL CAMP

The 2019 state champion Bradley Central Bearettes will host their annual basketball camp May 29-31 at Jim Smiddy Arena. Open to ages 5-14, the daily sessions will run from 8:30 a.m. until noon. Head coach Jason Reuter and his staff and players will instruct in basic game fundamentals. The cost of the camp is $55 for all three days or $45 for just two days. Registration will be held before the first day of the camp.

FREE LETS CAMP

OPENS REGISTRATION 

Registration is now open for the 3rd annual LETS Camp, which will once again be held at Jim Smiddy Arena will be held July 16-19. The four-day event sponsored by former Bradley standouts siblings Alvin, Terry, Levi and Gloria (Deathridge) Scott, not only provides free basketball, but also life advice for area youngsters. The "Life Education Through Sports" event is open to boys and girls ages 8-15. Those wishing to participate can register at www.letscamps.com. CSCC SUMMER CAMP

Cleveland State head women's basketball coach Evelyn Thompson will conduct the Summer Girls Basketball Camp, June 3-6. The camp is for ages 6-15 and will run from 9 a.m.-noon. Campers will participate in group instruction and games. The cost for the camp is $75 and includes a camp T-shirt. BUBBA SMITH SKILLS CAMP

The Bubba Smith Skills and Drills Camp will run June 10-13. The camp is recommended for boys ages 6-16 and will run from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Campers may register online at leeflamesbasketballcamps.com or by printing and filling out a brochure on the link.

MEN'S TEAM CAMP

The third annual Lee Men's Team Camp will run from June 13-15 and will feature teams that made appearances in the Tennessee and Georgia state basketball tournaments. There will be middle school, high school junior varsity, and high school JV for various levels of competition. The camp will offer flexible scheduling, affordable fees, and the opportunity to be evaluated by multiple college coaches. SKILLS/DRILLS

The Marty Rowe Skills and Drills Basketball Camp will be held June 24-27 at the Lee University Walker Arena. For girls age 5-eighth grade, the daily sessions will run from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. (early drop off, late pick up available). The individual skills camp  includes camp instruction, daily lunch, t-shirts, and prizes. The cost is $150, but only $135 if you register before May 15. Sibling discounts are also available. LADY FLAME

ELITE CAMP

The Lady Flames Elite Camp with be held June 29 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. in Lee University's Walker Arena. For players in grades 9-12, with advanced skill instruction and high-level competition, as well as exposure to numerous college coaches The cost is $100. FLAMES ELITE CAMP

The Lee University Flames will host Elite Camp Aug. 10-11. Elite Camp is a one-day session limited to the first 60 registrants with two sessions available. Top prospects from the region will be in attendance to be evaluated by our coaching staff. Elite Camp is offered to young men who are rising sophomores to rising seniors. LIVE WIDE OPEN TOURNAMENT

The Dustin Ledford Live Wide Open Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, June 8 at Chatata Valley Golf Club. Proceeds will benefit the Live Wide Open Scholarship Foundation. Tee time is 8 a.m. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. The cost for the 4-person, select shot tournament is $50 per person. A 2019 vehicle will be given away for a hole-in-one on a selected hole and a prize of $10,000 will be awarded for a hole-in-one on a selected hole. CIVITAN TOURNAMENT

The Cleveland Civitan Club will host the  45th annual Joe Rodgers Sr. Memorial Golf Tournament at Chatata Valley Golf Club Saturday, June 15. Proceeds go toward continuing to serve the special needs communities of Bradley and Polk Counties for events such as Cleveland Special Olympics, the Civitan Dance and the Inclusive Playground. The cost for a foursome team is $300. Lunch will be served at 12:30. Closest to the pin and hole-in-one prizes will be awarded on selected holes. There will also be drawings for door prizes. RUNNING

2019 CHATTANOOGA CHASE

The oldest and one of the most popular races on the Chattanooga Track Club schedule will held on Memorial Day, which is Monday, May 27, when the 52nd annual Chattanooga Chase is held in Riverview. The race, which includes a challenging 8K and a flat and fast one mile, benefits the Chattanooga Track Club’s Youth Development Series. The 8K main event is set to begin at 8 a.m. while the one-mile is scheduled for a 10 a.m. start.  OCOEE MIDDLE TRYOUTS

Tryouts for the 2019 Ocoee Middle School Lady Colts Softball team will be held June 13 and June 17 from 5-7 p.m., at Larry Haney Field on the campus of Walker Valley High School. Tryouts are closed and parents may pick up their daughters at 7 p.m. Any young ladies interested in playing for Ocoee Middle need to be at a tryout on one of these dates. LADY MUSTANGS CAMP

ONLY 20 SPOTS REMAIN for the 2019 Kay McDaniel Tennis Clinics that will take place June 3-7 at Lee University. The clinics, for boys and girls ages 6-13 of any skill level, are free of charge. The girls clinics will go from 8-10 a.m., and the boys clinics will run from 10:30 a.m.-noon. Quick registration is recommended as the first 350 entries have already been accepted.
