Mary Jernigan

Mary Evelyn Ramsey Jernigan, 89, of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017, at a local health care facility. She was a charter member of Northside Presbyterian Church and an Honorary Women of the Church Life Member of the Presbyterian Church, USA. She was also a member of First Presbyterian Church. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Jernigan; parents, James Roy Ramsey and Sallie Cleveland Ramsey; son, Hal Jernigan; and sister, Lela Cate.

Survivors include her daughter, Jeanie Cloud, and husband, Tom, of Cleveland; granddaughter, Emily Ridge, and husband, Michael, of Cleveland; sister, Betty (Mitchell) Lyle of Cleveland; three nieces: Paula (Bill) Thomas, Amanda (Don) Willoughby and Mollie (Rusty) McAmis, all of Cleveland; and two nephews, Tony Lyle of Hilliard, Ohio, and Jim (Kathy) Lyle of Centreville, Va.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, at First Presbyterian Church, with Dr. Joe Tanner and Dr. David Horne officiating.

Her family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church, prior to the service.

The family requests memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church Education Fund, 433 N. Ocoee St., Cleveland TN 37311.
