Mattie Ann Swafford


Mattie Ann Swafford, 65, a resident of Cleveland, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday morning, March 4, 2018, at a local hospital. 

She was born May 16, 1952, to Charles and Cornelius “Lindie” Swafford II, both whom preceded her in death along with her sisters, Odessa Rouser, and Karen Ware; and her brother, Lebron Swafford. 

Mattie was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was retired after 35 years from Whirlpool. 

Mattie leaves to mourn her passing, her sons, Tony (Michelle) Blair Jr., Adafo (Holly) Blair Sr., and Reginald Parker Sr. all of Cleveland;  her grandchildren:
Zavier, Jasmine, Adafo Jr., Justic, Lauren, Tyreshia, Andre, and Eric, all of Cleveland, Zachery of Gary, Ind., and Reginal Jr. of Jacksonville, N.C; great-grandchildren: Zayli, Landon, Corinthian, London, all of Cleveland; sisters:  Emma Cansler, Emma Swafford, Edith (Charles) Blair, Pastor Martha (Don) Tibbs, all of Cleveland, and Alinda Gail (the Rev. Leroy) Bowerman of Big Spring; brothers:  Charles Arthur (Beatrice) Swafford II, Lomas (Edna) Swafford Sr. ,all of Cleveland, Leonard (Helen) Swafford of Great Falls, Mont., and MacArthur Sharp Sr. and Anthony Ware of Cleveland. 

The body may be viewed Wednesday, March 7, 2018, from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.

The family will present from 6 until 7 p.m. at the Patton Funeral Home Chapel, 265 Fair Street S.E. Cleveland. 

The service will be at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 799 Inman Street S.E. on Thursday, March 8, 2018, at 12 noon, and the family will receive friends from 11 a.m until the service time. 

Interment will follow at Fort Hill Cemetery, the service to conclude with a dove release.
