KNOXVILLE — The Walker Valley Mustangs revved up their engines as they made the trek to Knoxville to face Bearden in 7-on-7 action Thursday night.

Despite starting quarterback Kolten Gibson being missing in action due to having his wisdom teeth removed, freshman Daniel Denton filled in for the all-time WVHS passing leader.

Touchdown catches were locked away by Sam Clements, Luke Wallace, Zeke Westfield and Caleb Grannan.

Brock Gibson also made several catches downfield for head coach Glen Ryan’s squad.

All local football teams can put on full pads Monday, as 7-on-7 action has wrapped up for the summer.
