A Cleveland man was arrested in connection with a burglary Tuesday at a residence and outbuilding on Spring Place Road.
According to Bradley County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Adam Lewis, the victim told deputies that numerous items were taken from the residence. In addition, a tiller was also missing from the outbuilding.
A neighbor of the victim notified deputies of the identify of the suspect who had alledgely stolen the tiller.
After further investigation, Billy Charles Evans, 41, of Benton, was found in possession of the tiller, which he allegedly attempted to spray paint to conceal its description. Deputies also observed spray paint in a grassy area.
Evans was arrested for burglary and theft of property. He was transported to the Bradley County Jail.
