Nita W. Wilson
Nita W. Wilson, 68, of Athens, entered in to her heavenly home peacefully and calmly on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018, sounded by her family at University of Alabama at Birmingham.
A native of Jacksonville, Fla., she was the daughter of the late Harold C. and Elizabeth Taylor Williams.
Her calling and heart's desire in this life were caring for and loving her family, serving the Lord and giving to others. Her great loves were baking, painting, flower gardening and nurturing her little dog "Mindy," her cat "Miss Kitty" and her geese and chickens.
She was also looking forward to the birth of her new great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Harold C. Williams Jr.; and father-in-law, Roy R. Wilson.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Dan R. Wilson Sr. of Athens; two daughters and sons-in-law: Christina and Tim Plemons of Charleston and Traci and Cody Field of Erwin; one son, Dan Wilson Jr. of Athens; three sisters and brothers-in-law: June and Jim Wash of Lexington, Ky., Freddie Anne Bettis of Cleveland, twin sister and husband, Rita and Randy Lonas of Cleveland; grandchildren, Jake and wife Kami Plemons, Will Plemons, Levi Field and Madelyn Field; great-grandchildren: Gracelyn Plemons and Addison Plemons; mother-in-law, Margie Wilson; brother-in-law and wife, Ronald and Vicki Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at noon Monday, Jan. 29, 2018, in the chapel of Laycock Hobbs Funeral Home with Cliff Boggs and Dan Early officiating.
The interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Cleveland immediately following the service. The pallbearers will be Dan Wilson Jr., Tim Plemons, Jake Plemons, Will Plemons, Cody Field and Levi Field.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon Monday before the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Eastanallee Baptist Church Building Fund.
