CSCC to host 'The Opioid Epidemic: What You Need to Know' on Oct. 25

Cleveland State Community College is hosting a presentation by The Bridge non-profit organization. The Opioid Epidemic: What You Need to Know will be held Thursday, Oct. 25 at 10:30 a.m. in Room 127 of the Mary T. Barker Humanities Department.
The presentation is being sponsored by the Social Work Program and Club of Cleveland State.

“The Opioid Epidemic is touching so many people's lives in our community, across our state and the nation,” said Jana Pankey, associate professor of Human Services/Social Work Club Adviswr. “As an educational institution and as future social workers, we feel that it is imperative to provide accurate information to our students, employees, and the community about this growing problem of opioid addiction. The Bridge Organization is doing a tremendous job in educating our community, and we are looking forward to their presentation on our campus.”
Reba Terry, executive director of The Bridge, said, “It’s always a pleasure to be on campus and to present to the students, faculty and community. We have to continue to get the word out about how to protect ourselves and our loved ones. Many people have no idea what kind of crisis we are in ,and how any of us can fall victim. That’s why this message is so important, to protect and to prevent.”
This presentation is not only for faculty, staff and students at the college, but it is open to the community, as well.
For more information on the Opioid Epidemic presentation or CSCC’s social work program, contact Pankey at 423-472-7141, ext. 438.
