Paul Alven Vance Jr., 69, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, in a Cleveland hospital.
He was a 1968 graduate of Howard High School and then served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He retired from Flowers Bakery after many years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Isabelle Vance, Sr.; and brothers: Micheal Vance and Van Vance.
Survivors include his loving wife of 18 years, Pat Vance of Cleveland; dedicated daughter, Jancy Rutledge; sons: Larry Rutledge, Kenneth Hammonds, Paul (Arleen) Vance, James (Traci) Vance, Steve (Sonya) Watkins, Jeffrey (Darice) Brown, and Rodney Brown; siblings: Eyvonne Vance, Anthony Vance, Marcia (Myron) Hilt, and Enona (James) Calloway; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces; nephews; cousins other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home, Wilcox Boulevard in Chattanooga.
The funeral will be Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017, at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
