Raymond Hoyle Chancey, 86, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2017, at an Asheville, N.C., medical center.
A native of Copper Hill, he had resided in Buncombe County, N.C., since 1983. He retired from the Air Force following 20 years of service, and had worked at Mills & Lupton Industrial Supply in Cleveland.
He was the son of the late Cecil Lake Chancey and Ethel Culberson Chancey; and was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kaitlyn Chancey.
Surviving are his children: Deborah Chancey Scroggins, Janet Chancey Crabtree, Cynthia Chancey Allen, and Kevin Ray Chancey; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017, in the chapel of the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, N.C.
