Raymond Hoyle Chancey, 86, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Aug. 14, 2017, at an Asheville, N.C., medical center.
A native of Copper Hill, he had resided in Buncombe County, N.C., since 1983. He retired from the Air Force following 20 years of service and had worked at Mills & Lupton Industrial Supply in Cleveland. He was a member of Newfound Baptist Church.
He was the son of the late Cecil Lake Chancey and Ethel Culberson Chancey. Hewas also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kaitlyn Chancey.
Surviving are his wife, Renith Williams Chancey; children: Deborah Chancey Scroggins, and husband, Garry, Janet Chancey Crabtree, and husband, Rick, Cynthia Chancey Allen, and husband, Jeff, and Kevin Ray Chancey, and wife, Wendy; grandchildren, Alicia Khim, Jeremy Crabtree, Rodney Scroggins, Eric Allen, Dustin Scroggins, Matthew Chancey and Mitchell Chancey; and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug.16, 2017, in the chapel of the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Black Mountain, N.C.
