Ruby Lee Womac Allen, 67, a lifelong resident of McMinn County, went to her heavenly home on Thursday morning, May 23, 2019.

She was born in Athens on Jan. 15, 1952, a daughter of the late Jim and Leta Bell Womac.

Ruby was a member of the Sanford Baptist Church in Riceville. She worked for 47 years as a hairdresser, and was loved by all her customers and she loved them back dearly. Ruby was an avid reader and enjoyed working in her church and doing the Lord’s work.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, John and Willie Allen.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 41 years, Michael Allen; two sisters: Frances Blevins (Charles) and Linda Brady; one brother, Freddie Womac (Sheila); numerous other extended family members; her church family; and a host of special friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 25, 2019, from 5  until 7 p.m. at the Sanford Baptist Church, located at 2415 County Road 50 in Riceville.

A service celebrating her life will follow the visitation at 7 p.m., with the Rev. Michael Coleman and the Rev. Allen Farris officiating.

The family will assemble on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Charleston, for the interment and committal service. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

You are encouraged to share a memory of Ruby, and/or your personal condolences with her family, by visiting her memorial web page and guestbook at www.companionfunerals.com.
