Todd Shoemaker, principal of Bradley Central High School, has been named Bradley County Schools' supervisor of secondary education.

Director of Schools Dr. Linda Cash confirmed the announcement Thursday. Shoemaker will take over for current secondary supervisor Danny Coggin, who retires this June after 40 years with the county school district.

Bradley County Schools is also looking to hire a new supervisor of elementary education this year. Current elementary supervisor Sheena Newman is preparing to retire after a 35-year career.

Cash said Newman's position has not yet been filled. A new principal for Bradley Central High School has also not been officially named.
