Bradley County Court Clerk Gayla Miller announced Tuesday where the county courts will hold session while the Bradley County Courthouse is under repair.

“We moved today and we will be up and running,” Miller said during the Tuesday afternoon conference. “We’re ready to go as soon as the computers are up and running. My problem, thank the Lord, is practically solved.”

“I want to especially thank the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office because they are letting us use their conference rooms and all of their facilities,” she added. “None of this would have happened had it not been for the sheriff’s [office] in the very beginning. It’s just a godsend.”

Miller noted that Clerk and Master Sarah Coleman has moved her office along with Miller’s office, “because we share the same computer server.”

“Sometimes I fussed about having three locations to be at,” Miller said. “This is one time I am grateful to have them.”

She added the offer of help from the city of Cleveland has also been a major help in getting the local court system up and running.

“Today was a much better day than I thought it would be,” Miller said.

County Mayor D. Gary Davis said getting the courts up and running “was a major piece of the puzzle.”

He also thanked the city for its offer, “because they were a fallback if we needed more.”

The new, temporary court locations are as follows:

• Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, 2290 Blythe Ave.

Chancery Court — Community Room

Circuit Court (Judge Lawrence Puckett) — North Training Room

• Bradley County Misdemeanor Probation Office, 2252 Blythe Ave., S.E.

Circuit Court (Judge Mike Sharp) — Conference Room

• Bradley County Juvenile Center, 1620 Johnson Blvd., S.E.

Bradley County Juvenile Court

Bradley County General Sessions Civil Court

Bradley County Order of Protection Court

• Cleveland Municipal Building located at 190 Church St., N.E.

Child Support Court — City Council Room

All criminal courts, which incorporate Bradley County General Sessions Criminal Court and Bradley County Criminal Court, will still convene at the Bradley County Judicial Center.

Those with pending cases that may have questions can call the court clerk’s office, or check with their attorney to get specific details.
