Jared Tilley has been named the Tennessee Christian Preparatory School upper school's principal, in an announcement by President Dr. Jimmy Harper, and President of the Board of Trustees Patricia Sluder.

Tilley has been a member of the TCPS family since 2015, having taught classes in history and humanities, as well as involvement in athletics as a basketball coach, and student life through leadership of TCPS chapel and student development. The appointment is a promotion for Tilley, who served the past school year as middle school assistant principal.

“Jared has been a part of Tennessee Christian Preparatory School for more than four years, and he has captured the hearts of our students,” Sluder said. “With his constant encouragement and excitement for watching our students grow, he instills in them a love for learning.”

Due in part to the wide variety of involvement at TCPS, Tilley is immensely popular among the student body and TCPS families, known for his tremendous care for students balanced with high academic and character standards.

“Jared is the consummate professional educator,” Harper said of Tilley’s leadership. “He is loved by his students and respected greatly by his colleagues. He will lead the middle and high Schools with integrity!”

The new TCPS principal continues a legacy of excellence in Christ-centered academics. Jared’s father, Dr. David Tilley, was a vice president at Lee University, serving 15 years before starting Mount Paran Christian School in Marietta, Ga., serving there for another 15 years.

Tilley earned his bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga and is currently working on his master’s in educational leadership from Gordon College.

“He is a godly, positive influence in every interaction at our school,” Sluder said.. “On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I am honored to offer him our full support, because we recognize his extraordinary leadership skills and we appreciate his love for our students and our school.”

Tennessee Christian Preparatory School provides a quality college preparatory education, from a biblical worldview, and equips students for tomorrow’s challenges by educating the mind and the soul.
