Traci Hamilton talks to Federation of Blind group about budgeting

The South East Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind met in August. The guest speaker was Traci Hamilton, mortgage loan officer from Bank of Cleveland, for the recent meeting

Hamilton explained process of budgeting. She explained about paying essential and nonessential bills, the envelope system, and putting money back for entertainment and a rainy day.

She gave the members a budgeting worksheet so money could be tracked.

The South East Chapter is an active social, support, and advocacy group for the blind and visually impaired of Bradley County and surrounding areas.

The chapter meets the second Thursday of every month at the Cleveland Family YMCA.

The next meeting will be Thursday, Sept. 14, 1 to 3 p.m., in the Party Room. The guest speaker will be Officer Jennifer Samples with the Cleveland Police Department. She will be talking about self-defense.

The monthly activity will be Thursday, Sept. 28, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., at Leisure Time Bowling.
