Ulene Deweese Cader, 98, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Aug. 31, 2018, in Pinellas Park, Fla.
She was born on Dec. 19, 1919, in Hayesville, N.C., to T.D. and Alma Teleulah (Standridge) Deweese.
Ulene was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church in Cleveland. She attended seminary at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, were she met her husband, Burley Edward Cader.
They served as missionaries in Brazil for 35 years, working as evangelists spreading the gospel, and helping establish 139 Baptist churches in the state of Bahia, northeast of Brazil. They had six children; a biological son, Daniel Edward; five adopted Brazilian children, David Marcus, Debora Jan, Licia Jon, Jose Aquilino and Querubina.
She is survived by David, Debora, Licia, and Jose Aquilino; and many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing.” (2 Tim 4:7-8).
