The United Way of the Ocoee Region is reminding local residents of its Ocoee Connect helpline, which is a valuable resource for the community.

"The disruption to our daily lives due to the COVID-19 virus has affected people on many levels,” said United Way President and CEO Stephanie Linkous. “It's times like these when United Way is at its best. We are uniquely positioned to aid the most vulnerable in our community.”

Ocoee Connect, the local United Way’s health and human service helpline, has an up-to-date listing of local programs and services. A United Way staff member will take calls and refer people to the appropriate agency.

The Ocoee Connect number is 423-800-8008.

“We have already received calls from people in the service industry who have lost their income because of closings,” Linkous said. “Fortunately, there are funds available for utility assistance through Project Round-Up.”
