Verlin Sneed, 78, of Cleveland passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017.

He was the son of the late Charles and Bessie Hickman Sneed. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Elizabeth Knott of North Little Rock, Ark.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; son, Stephen (Fina); special granddaughter, Sofia of Aliso Viejo, Calif.; brother, Ralph (Linda) of Cleveland; sisters: Joyce ONeal of Cleveland, and Betty Black (Ken) of Vicksburg, Miss.; brother-in-law, Charles Knott of North Little Rock, Ark.; nieces and nephews: Beth Sneed Rose (Ken) of Buford, Ga., Michael Black (Ann) of Jackson, Miss., Jeff Knott (Christy) of Nashville,, Katherine ONeal of Cleveland, Carla Knott Torrijos (German) of Fayetteville, Ark., and Chris Black (Gabi) of Kirkwood, Mo; and numerous great-nieces and -nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 27, 2017, at First Baptist Church, 1275 Stuart Road.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Rusty Asble officiating. Interment will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens with his nephews and friends serving as pallbearers.
