Wayne Kincaid

Wayne Kincaid, 83, enlisted in a new army with his Lord and Commander in Chief on Monday, Feb. 26, 2018, in the afternoon in a Chattanooga hospital.

He was born in Mulvane, Kan., on Aug. 23, 1934, the son of the late Ira and Opal Kincaid. 

He attended Kansas State and graduated with a bachelor's degree from UTC. He was a retired career Army officer of 22 years and served in Vietnam and Korea. After retiring, he worked at Kile Dodge and Superior Olds in Cleveland. 

He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Robert and Harold; and two sisters, Elizabeth and Arlene. 

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 51 years, Linda Kincaid; son, Michael Kincaid; daughter-in-law, Charity Kincaid; three grandchildren, Bradley, Brayden and Bailey; a brother, Gary Kincaid (Gail); sister, Mildred Long; and other extended family members, and dear friends from all over the world. 

A Celebration of Life and visitation will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The internment will be in the St. Luke’s Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dr. Joel Huffstutler officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Paralyzed American Veterans (PVA.org.), The Caring Place Cleveland (www.thecaringplaceonline.org), and/or St. Luke’s Discretionary Fund, 320 Broad St., Cleveland, TN 37311.
