William Kins Hooper


William Kins Hooper, 82, of Cleveland, passed away on Friday, Feb. 14, 2020. 

He was born on Feb. 6, 1938, to the late Boyd and Mary Hooper. 

He was a lifelong resident of this area and a member of Candies Creek Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, where he spent eight years and worked on the Kitty Hawk.  He retired from Combustion Engineering in Chattanooga. 

He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, but above all things he was a family man. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren as he traveled to watch them play sports and participate in many activities. 

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 61 years, Mable Hooper; children: Kinny Hooper and children: Sidney Hooper, Madison Hooper and Kins Hooper, Greg Hooper and wife, Connie, and their children: Hayes Hooper and Alexander Hooper, Lori Hutchins and husband, Chris, and their son, Garrett Hutchins; and siblings: Milton Hooper and wife, Ruth, and their daughter, Barbara Hooper, and Midge Crawford and her children: Tim Cody and Zeno Beaty. 

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020, at Candies Creek Baptist Church.  A Celebration of Life will follow the visitation at 7 p.m.
